Jessica Stockholder

Considered a pioneer in multi-media installation art, Stockholder was a director and professor of graduate studies in sculpture at Yale until 2011 when she assumed a faculty chair in Visual Arts at the University of Chicago. A Seattle native, she has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the United States, Canada and Europe including the Barbara Farber Gallery (Amsterdam), the Daniel Weinberg Gallery (Santa Monica), the Fay Gold Gallery (Atlanta), the Galerie Metropol (Vienna), the Haywood Gallery (London), the Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington, D.C. among many others. She is the recipient of numerous awards and grants including a National Endowment for the Arts grant in sculpture (1988), a Guggenheim Fellowship Award in Visual Art (1996) and the Lucelia Artist Award from the Smithsonian American Art Museum (2007).
