Willa Horowitz

Willa has coordinated both Israeli Dancing of New Haven and the New Haven International Folkdancers. Horowitz was also choreographer and performer with Shalhevet Israeli Dance Ensemble, which performed at various Israeli cultural festivals on the East Coast. During her tenure as Assistant Director of Programs and Cultural Arts at the Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven in 2005 Willa developed the cultural programming portion of Celebrate 350: Jewish Life in America, created a multicultural performance coffeehouse, and engaged performers for weekly Kosher BBQ events.

Currently, Ms. Horowitz is board president of Branford Folk Music Society, is booking assistant to Mr. Stacy Phillips, CT based Grammy Award winning musician, folk dance leader and instructor with internationally known Klezmer bands including: Margot Leverett Klezmer, as well as arts-in-education instructor for Arts Explore! a multicultural public school endeavor through the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT and the Thomaston Public Schools.

Willa Horowitz holds a Master of Arts Degree from Hofstra University and is a licensed audiologist in the State of Connecticut. Willa is married to Marc Horowitz, a Science Instructor at North Haven High School and they live in one of the last Hamden houses on the border with Cheshire with Zoe Zydeco Chatzka Horowitz, a purebred Birman cat with an attitude.
